Walk-Check Systems

Walk-Check Systems makes a phone app for recording the preflight walkaround of an aircraft. The app is called Walk-Check. The company is based in Tisovec, Slovakia, and its website is walkcheck.eu. The app is made for clubs, flying schools and aircraft owners. A separate page covers airlines, handlers and rental companies.

A person films the walkaround with a phone and taps Done. The video is then sealed with the time, the place and the aircraft. The record shows who made the recording, when it happened, the site as entered in the app, and the registration and type of the aircraft. The video also gets a SHA-256 fingerprint from the phone.

Anyone can check a record without an account. A separate verifier answers VERIFIED or TAMPERED, so later changes can be found. The company states that the record does not judge the condition of the aircraft and does not replace the inspection the crew must do. A record can be shared as a link that opens in any browser or as a PDF report.

For clubs and schools, registering in the app creates an organisation. Each walkaround is added to the history of its aircraft, with the time, the place and the person. Members can be invited by email, each with a role, and their walkarounds belong to the club. An admin console at walkcheck.eu/console manages members, aircraft and records. The upload finishes even when the phone is locked, and a recording carries on after an interruption.

For airlines, ACMI providers, handlers and rental companies, the company offers sealed walkarounds when an aircraft returns from lease and again before it goes out. It also offers Ramp Evidence Week. This is five days on one ramp, with one aircraft type and one team, and it ends with every record and a written report. The first aircraft for operators and the first five walkarounds for a new organisation cost nothing. The site lists two phone numbers, a contact form and a way to book a meeting.
