4JET

4JET is a German maker of laser systems for industry. Its machines clean, cut and prepare delicate technical surfaces, and customers use them around the world. In 2026 the company merged four operating companies into one firm, now called 4JET GmbH.

For glass, 4JET makes machines for laser cutting and laser drilling. Its cutting method uses a Bessel beam, a specially shaped beam that reaches deep and even into the glass. A second step splits the glass along the line. The company says this gives clean, low-particle edges without extra finishing. The PEARL range covers wafers and glass of different sizes, from compact units to large-format cutting. The company says its patent library covers more than 60 patent families.

4JET also builds machines for thin-film processing, with the TOPAZ line, and for wafer dicing, with the DTX 200 NX. Its laser cleaning range includes the JETLASER, which cleans surfaces without contact and can be handheld or built into a line. The company also sells Core4 software and technical service.

A large part of its work serves the tire industry. Products include laser tire marking, uniformity correction, tire mold cleaning, inner liner cleaning and a line for fitting foam in tires. The company also offers a digital product passport application for tires.

For aviation, 4JET has developed LEAF, short for Laser Enhanced Air Flow. It uses laser interference patterns to engrave tiny shark skin structures on surfaces. The aim is to reduce drag on aircraft, which saves fuel and cuts CO2. A prototype laser system has shown that the technology works. The company has a page for the aviation industry.

Other industries it serves include automotive, display, medical, life sciences, optics, semiconductor, augmented reality, architectural glass and home appliances, and thin-film solar.
