Northgate Aviation

Northgate Aviation operates Northgate Aviation Chico Jet Center, the full-service fixed base operator at Chico Regional Airport (KCIC) in Chico, California, from 109 Convair Avenue. Founded in October 2005 when entrepreneurs Christopher and Maria Rock and Embry-Riddle graduate Siggi Arnarson bought the FBO Chico Aviation, it is woman-owned and operated and veteran-founded, describes itself as the longest-operating full-service FBO in Chico's history, and has been recognised by Aviation International News. Alicia Rock, a third-generation aviation leader, took over day-to-day operations in 2014 and became president in 2026, with Maria Rock as board chair.

FBO services

• TITAN-branded Jet-A and 100LL at some of the lowest rates in the region, with DLA, DoD and AIR Card acceptance, TITAN Fuel Rewards and Contract Fuel+ benefits, ACE-certified line service technicians and after-hours fuelling on call
• No landing fees, waived handling and overnight parking fees and free vehicle parking for departing customers
• Tug and tow, lavatory service, electric GPU, complimentary ice and coffee, baggage assistance, golf cart service, ramp-side vehicle access and Hertz rental car delivery
• A pilots' lounge with sleeper chairs, complimentary refreshments, free internet and computer access and shower-equipped restrooms, housed in an original Second World War hangar

• More than 250,000 square feet of directly managed ramp space, over 500,000 square feet more available through Chico Airport Management, and over 20,000 square feet of hangar space for aircraft up to light jets, plus office rentals
• One of the area's largest flight schools, with experienced instructors and scheduling through Flight Schedule Pro
• Aircraft management, small piston aircraft rentals, purchase advice, and charter and flight concierge services through a network of charter partners
• Primary service operator for CAL FIRE's Chico Air Attack Base, with public safety discounts and amenities for government, military, police, fire and medical operators

Team

Co-founder Christopher J. Rock (1946 to 2021) set out with Maria Rock to reinvent Chico's aviation sector; Alicia Rock previously had a legal career including work with the City of Chico supporting airport development and volunteers with causes such as Dream Flights; Garry Pohrman leads flight operations and fleet management. The FBO takes reservations through FlightBridge, is affiliated with AOPA and the Climbing Fast campaign, and says its aim is to make sure customers fly safe.
