4AIR is a sustainability program made for aviation. The company helps aircraft operators work out their carbon impact and offset it. It describes itself as the first and only sustainability solutions program dedicated to aviation.

The core offer is a set of four ratings. Level 1, Bronze, is carbon neutral through verified carbon credits. Level 2, Silver, is emissions neutral. Level 3, Gold, means reducing gross impact by at least 5 percent. Level 4, Platinum, adds a contribution to the Aviation Climate Fund, a nonprofit that supports research in aviation sustainability.

4AIR also offers voluntary programs that document reductions from sustainable aviation fuel. It runs a regulatory monitoring and compliance program. It also manages sustainable aviation fuel inventory, so that reductions are calculated, traced and shared by fuel type and blend. The company says it has helped offset over 2.5 million metric tons of carbon dioxide from over 550,000 flight hours in two years.

The company says its carbon credits are verified by bodies such as the American Carbon Registry, Climate Action Reserve, Verified Carbon Standard and The Gold Standard. It says year end audits are checked by third parties. Its work aligns with ICAO standards and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
