Aeropilot

Aeropilot Ltd. is a Czech aircraft maker. It builds ultralight and light sport aircraft under the LEGEND name.

The company was set up to make light sport aircraft. It was formed together with private owners and the company INPRO Čáslav Ltd. Its main product today is the LEGEND 600. It comes as an ultralight and as a light sport aircraft. Both have a maximum take-off weight of 600 kg.

The LEGEND 600 is an all-composite, high-wing, strut-braced two-seater. It is built from sandwich materials, which keep empty weight low and useful load high. The company says it suits basic training for private pilot licence holders and also travel. Aeropilot also builds an amphibious version with floats, so the aircraft can fly from both land and water. One amphibian shown uses a Rotax 916 iS engine. The fuel system has two wing tanks of 100 or 130 litres, with an electric backup pump.

A newer version, the LEGEND 600 NG, has modern wiring and high-quality wings and static ports. The company says these give very accurate speed readings.

The approvals are listed by date. Aeropilot received the French type certificate in May 2012. It gained authorisation for serial production in December 2012 and the Czech type certificate from the LAA the next day. The German DULV certificate followed in April 2013. The LEGEND 600 received its Czech LAA certificate in June 2021 and its German certificate in January 2022. The 600 NG received its German certificate in August 2024.

The LEGEND was voted the best ultralight aircraft in Germany by visitors at the AERO show in Friedrichshafen in 2015. The first LEGEND flew from the Czech Republic to Saudi Arabia in April 2014. Custom builds include an IFR-equipped light sport aircraft for the USA, a big-wheel aircraft for beaches in Guatemala and a glider tow aircraft. The company lists dealers.
