AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE

AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s. is the largest aircraft manufacturer in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1919. The company designs, develops, produces, delivers and services military aircraft for customers worldwide. It has produced more than 11,000 aircraft and has about 60 customers worldwide.

The company has about 1,600 employees and works with 400 suppliers, 65% of them Czech. Its base is at Odolena Voda, near Prague.

The L-39 Skyfox is a new generation subsonic jet for basic and advanced training and light attack missions. The L-39 Albatros is a jet training aircraft that the company calls the most successful jet training aircraft in the world. The L-159 ALCA is an advanced trainer and light combat aircraft. The company says its low-wing subsonic aircraft can stay in service for up to 50 years from delivery.

Aero has provided maintenance, repair and overhaul services since 1966. It supports more than 45 military operators of L-39 Skyfox, L-39, L-59 and L-159 aircraft, including the Czech Air Force. Its services include performance based logistics, field service engineers, pilot and ground personnel training, technical publications, service bulletins and modernization packages. For the L-39 Skyfox it offers a Maintenance Advantage Plan, which is paid per flight hour.

Aero is a partner for aerostructures and industrial cooperation with Airbus, Embraer and Leonardo. It makes key structural components for all Embraer C-390 Millennium aircraft. For Airbus, it has completed its 600th set of A220 wing front edge parts and has new certifications for repairing composite A220 parts. The company also runs Vodochody Airport, a private international airport a short distance north of Prague.
