Taconic

Taconic makes PTFE and silicone coated fabrics, tapes and conveyor belts. Its headquarters is in Petersburgh, New York, and it serves aerospace and many other industries.

The company was founded in 1961 in Petersburgh. It began with a new way to coat woven fiberglass with PTFE. It started as a small family business and now runs eleven facilities in North America, Europe and South America. These sit in New York, California, Ontario, Mexico, Ireland, France, Germany, the UK, Poland, Italy and Brazil. Taconic is ISO 9001 registered.

The products come in three families. Industrial tapes are coated tapes for nonstick release, masking, insulation, heat sealing and abrasion resistance. Industrial fabrics are PTFE and silicone coated fabrics for release, heat resistance and chemical resistance. Industrial belting covers conveyor and process belts for conveying, laminating, food processing, composite molding and high-temperature manufacturing. Taconic also offers mesh belting made from PES, PPS and PEEK.

For aerospace, Taconic supplies release materials, masking products and coated fabrics. They are used in aerospace manufacturing and in maintenance, repair and overhaul work. The same materials suit composite molding. Release tapes, fabrics and tooling materials help make composite parts, such as wind turbine blades. High-temperature masking tapes protect surfaces during thermal spray coating and finishing.

Taconic also serves food processing, packaging, automotive, electronics and renewable energy. Its coatings are made to resist heat, chemicals and wear.
