BriskHeat

BriskHeat manufactures flexible surface heating elements, heating controls and accessories for industrial process heating, freeze protection and composite repair. The company was founded on 1 December 1949 in Columbus, Ohio, by retired Major General Earnest Briscoe, who borrowed against a US$300 insurance policy to start the Briscoe Manufacturing Company making aeroplane wing de-icers for the military. Its core technology is a patented multi-stranded resistance wire that gives its products durability and flexibility.

Applications and history

BriskHeat products are used for viscosity control, condensation prevention, process heat and freeze protection. The company moved to 1055 Gibbard Avenue in Columbus in 1952, which served as its headquarters and main factory for 64 years until 2016. Products were sold under the name Briskeat from the 1950s until 1981, and through the 1960s the company supported several industries including aerospace. It describes more than 70 years of flexible heating experience and customers among manufacturers and engineers worldwide, with offices and distributors in many countries.
