Corporate aviation airport of Scottsdale, Arizona
About Scottsdale Airport
Scottsdale Airport (SDL) is a general aviation reliever airport owned and operated by the City of Scottsdale, Arizona. With no commercial airline service, it is home to many of the Valley's corporate aircraft and is described as one of the main corporate jet facilities in the state. The airport lies nine miles north of downtown Scottsdale, close to resorts, hotels, restaurants and golf courses, with an average median temperature of 70 degrees and about 360 VFR days a year.

- Runway 03/21 and taxiways, with a pavement preservation project funded by the airport's aviation enterprise fund scheduled for late October 2026
- Fixed base operators, one of which has been rated among the top 50 by Professional Pilot magazine every year since the ranking began, plus charter, aircraft rental, maintenance and in-flight catering businesses listed in the airport directory

- Aviation Business Center and the Thunderbird Field II Veterans' Memorial

Economic role
Scottsdale Airport and the surrounding Airpark generate almost US$1.1 billion in economic activity and 5,171 jobs. The Airpark, in the city's only industrial-zoned area, is a base for more than 85 major companies and nearly 3,233 small and medium-sized businesses. In 1995 the Arizona Department of Transportation named Scottsdale the Arizona Airport of the Year.
Planning and community
The Airport Master Plan sets out future development and facility needs. The airport runs a noise abatement programme with a Part 150 noise compatibility study, publishes noise reports and operational statistics from the FAA control tower, and is advised by an Airport Advisory Commission. Community events include Run the Runway and movies on the ramp.
