Kasada
Bot defence and fraud protection for airline and travel platforms
About Kasada
Kasada provides web, mobile app and API protection against automated threats and online fraud. Founder Sam Crowther, who had helped one of Australia's largest banks fight bots, started the company in 2015 with a small group of friends working from a shipping container under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Kasada is headquartered in Sydney, at 52 Reservoir Street, Surry Hills, with hubs in New York, Boston, Melbourne and San Francisco, and says it protects USD 150 billion of e-commerce and 250 million people daily. Forrester named it a leader in The Forrester Wave for Bot and Agent Trust Management Software, Q2 2026.
Platform
- Bot Defense: stops sophisticated bots, scrapers and automated attacks without CAPTCHAs
- Account Intelligence: detects coordinated fraud and repeat abuse across accounts, sessions and devices, from organised fraud rings to individual operators
- AI Agent Trust: verifies AI agents and controls which crawlers, bots and agents can reach which endpoints, down to the HTTP request
- KasadaIQ for Fraud: surfaces warning signs before fraud occurs and protects business logic and customer data
- Use cases include blocking credential stuffing and account takeover at login, keeping pricing and content from scrapers, assessing risk at guest checkout, and stopping bots from triggering one-time-code messages at scale
Airlines and travel
Kasada publishes dedicated guidance for airlines and for travel and hospitality. It notes that frequent flyer fraud accounts for 46 percent of fraudulent airline transactions, that the average fraudulent airline ticket is worth USD 2,000 and that cyberattacks on the sector have risen 74 percent since 2020. Threats it addresses include credential stuffing against customer accounts, theft and resale of loyalty points, denial of inventory through bot reservations that are later cancelled, scraping of flight data that raises global distribution system costs and feeds unauthorised online travel agencies, and promotion abuse through fake accounts. The company reports a 239 percent rise in automated attacks on travel and hospitality in the past year and that over half of surveyed companies lose 6 percent of revenue to price and content scraping. Kasada also serves retail, fintech, energy, media and gaming, and SaaS customers.
