Groupe Deschamps

Groupe Deschamps is a French industrial group active since 1860, organised in three businesses: Deschamps Access for accessibility and mobility matting, including the Mobi-mat beach and pathway mats; Deschamps Systems for defence and aviation mobility material; and Deschamps Textiles for felts and technical textiles. The group's expertise in high added-value textiles, combined with in-house engineering, design and compliance teams, is used to produce equipment for extreme uses and conditions, and it has a US office alongside its French headquarters.

Deschamps Systems: defence and aviation

Deschamps Systems supplies ground reinforcement and mobility material that lets vehicles, aircraft and personnel operate on unstable, muddy, sandy, snowy or remote terrain. Since the Balkan conflict its products have been deployed in all theatres of operations, with more than 30 years of product innovation and references with armed forces around the world. Products include:

• Helipad mobile helicopter landing pads and landing zones for rapid, safe deployment at forward operating bases, forward arming and refuelling points, drop zones and medical evacuation sites
• Temporary roadways, amphibious landing mats and ground improvement mats, with dispensers for quick installation and removal, supporting troops and vehicles in mud, soft sand and snow
• Camp flooring and ground insulation for tents and shelters on expeditions
• Aircraft recovery ground support equipment: COTS mobility mats, moving and lifting material for safe recovery of disabled aircraft while avoiding secondary damage, supplied to civilian airlines and airports and to military air bases worldwide
