MBDA

MBDA is a European group that designs and builds complex weapon systems, including missiles and missile systems. It works with the armed forces of its home nations and their allies. The group has country pages for France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, and it says its products serve more than 90 armed forces worldwide.

MBDA says it has about 50 years of experience in missile design. It builds products for all three branches of the armed forces. The company calls itself Europe's prime contractor, operating globally. Its approach is to work with each customer, from components and subsystems to the final product. Solutions are made to work together and to be used on different platforms.

Its range is split into six mission areas. Deep Strike covers ground attack and anti-ship missiles, such as the Exocet family, Storm Shadow and SCALP, and Taurus. Tactical Strike includes Brimstone, Sea Venom and Spear. Battlefield covers anti-tank and soldier-level systems such as Enforcer and Akeron.

Area Protection offers air defence missiles and weapon systems, including the Aster family and Aquila. Force Protection aims to protect key infrastructure and high-value assets. Its products include the CAMM family, Mistral, VL MICA and Dragonfire.

Air Dominance covers air-to-air missiles, including the MICA family, ASRAAM and Meteor. This area also names other products such as DDM-NG, ELIPS, SAPHIR-400 and SPECTRA.

MBDA supports its products through their whole life. Its customer support teams help from first set-up to the end of life, when systems are demilitarised. Services include documentation, training, spare parts, maintenance equipment and the infrastructure customers need. It also offers stockpile management support and contracting for availability.

The company also runs a supplier programme. Its procurement pages describe a qualified supplier network built around industrial performance, innovation, cyber protection and low carbon emissions.
