Flightstar

Flightstar is an aircraft maintenance, avionics, interiors, charter and fixed base operator business at University of Illinois-Willard Airport in Savoy, Illinois. It has provided maintenance in central Illinois since 1978.

Flightstar is an FAA Part 145 repair station. It holds a Class 1, 2, 3 and 4 repair station certificate. It also holds foreign approvals from EASA and Transport Canada. It has been a Bombardier Authorized Service Facility since 2012.

The maintenance team works on business and corporate aircraft for operators across the Midwest and the rest of the United States. Its technicians are factory trained, and the shop has special depth on Bombardier Challenger and Learjet aircraft. For the Challenger 300, 350 and 3500, it handles inspections, troubleshooting, avionics and electrical support, hydraulic servicing and service bulletins. For the Challenger 600 series, including the 604 and 605, it does heavy maintenance, structural inspections and repairs, and weight and balance. For Learjet 45 and 75 aircraft, it offers phase inspections, engine and APU coordination, avionics upgrades, and RVSM and ADS-B compliance. Other maintenance lines include structures, engines, non-destructive testing and airline services.

The avionics shop covers ADS-B and WAAS upgrades, CPDLC, satellite communication, Wi-Fi, cabin management systems and other upgrades. It keeps a library of supplemental type certificates for its work.

The interiors team offers cabin lighting, smart vision shades and aircraft detailing. It describes this as small shop capability with a gallery of finished work.

Flightstar also offers charter flights. Its charter fleet lists the Global 7500, the Challenger 3500 and the Learjet 45 and 75. Its aircraft management program covers sales and acquisitions.

The fixed base operation provides guest services, ramp services, reservations and U.S. Customs. The company also lists an aviation medical examiner service.
