Draxon
IATA-certified VR ramp training for ground handling teams in the United States
About Draxon
Draxon makes virtual reality training for airport ground handling teams. It says its ramp training is IATA certified. The company serves airports and ground handlers. Staff can train anywhere and at any time, using a headset.
The training covers many ramp tasks. Courses include aircraft arrival, belt loader, de-icing, ground power unit, hand signals, headset communication, bulk loading and unloading, marshalling, power stow, aircraft walkaround before departure, pushback with a towbar, towable stairs and tractor operation. More courses are listed as upcoming.
The Aircraft Arrival course is a full example. It has 7 lessons and 18 safety scenarios and takes about 23 minutes. It covers ramp safety, personal protective equipment, checks for foreign object debris, aircraft positioning, chocking and coning. It is available in nine languages: English, German, Dutch, Spanish, French, Greek, Arabic, Cantonese Chinese and Turkish.
Draxon aims to make training the same at every station. Teams can launch a session in minutes and then scale the training across stations. A trainer hub gives instructors a way to run the sessions and follow progress. The company also provides a learning management system with a login for trainees and trainers.
Draxon says its training is used at airports and by ground handlers. The names it shows include Zurich, Madrid, Brussels, Geneva, Nuremberg, Vienna, Hannover, Stuttgart, Berlin Brandenburg, Cologne Bonn and Fraport airports. They also include dnata, WFS, Wisag, Aviapartner, HiSERV, AGS and Maintair.
