Aviomar Flight Academy

Aviomar Flight Academy is a flight school at Rome Urbe Airport, a few minutes from the centre of Rome. It has trained pilots since 1982 and is an EASA Approved Training Organisation, IT.ATO.0003. The school has been run by Captain Riccardo Marano since it was founded.

Courses

• Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL)
• Integrated and modular ATPL, Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
• Instrument Rating (IR), PBN, high performance aeroplane, SEP and MEP class ratings
• Type ratings, including Boeing 737, Airbus A320, Citation, Hawker HS125, Embraer 135/145 and Legacy, Falcon and CASA C-212
• Base and landing training for type ratings
• Instructor courses: FI, IRI, CRI, TRI, SFI and MCCI
• Licence conversions and distance learning
• Ryanair Future Flyer Academy, with modular and APS MCC gateways
• Test of English for Aviation (ICAO levels 4, 5 and 6)

Fleet and simulators

Aviomar says its fleet of over 20 aircraft is one of the largest training fleets in Italy, with Cessna, Piper and Diamond types, including the Cessna 152, Cessna 172 and Diamond DA42. Its simulators include an Alsim ALX, a DA42 and a Boeing 737 device. The Monterotondo training centre has 6 flight simulators, 3 of them full motion.

Maintenance

Aviomar has its own maintenance division under CAO rules for Cessna, Piper and Diamond aircraft, led by engineer Roberto De Luca. It is a Diamond Aircraft fleet operator and offers scheduled inspections, engine and propeller changes, avionics tests and airworthiness reviews.

Instructors

Many instructors come from airlines such as Alitalia and Ryanair, and the school says its graduates fly for major airlines around the world. It is open 7 days a week.
