Diamond Aero S.r.l., operating as Urbe Aero, is a flight school and maintenance base at Roma Urbe Airport (LIRU), Via Salaria 825, Rome, Italy. It was founded in 2003 in Sabaudia as Diamond Aero, the exclusive dealer for Diamond Aircraft Industries.
About the company
In 2009 the company, led by Domenico and Pasquale Calia, added pilot training and aircraft maintenance for its own and third-party aircraft, and with ENAC approval began operating as an ATO flight school at Roma Urbe. Maintenance in Rome is handled with its sister company Urbe Aero GmbH, which took over Diamond Maintenance GmbH from Diamond Aircraft Industries in 2012. Urbe Aero GmbH is an EASA Part 145 maintenance organisation and an EASA Part 21J design organisation based in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, with over 40 technicians, 10 of them in Rome. The Rome base also has a CAMO department.

Flight training
Urbe Aero trains on Diamond DA20-C1, DA40 NG and DA42 NG/DA42-VI aircraft and a CAP 10 C, with an Alsim AL42 FNPT II and B737 MAX and A320neo simulators. Courses include integrated ATPL and MPL, and it describes itself as the first flight school in Italy certified to issue the MPL.
