Bartolini Air
Flight training, charter and maintenance at Lodz Airport, Poland
About Bartolini Air
Bartolini Air is a group of EASA-certified aviation companies based at Łódź International Airport in central Poland. It offers flight training, private jet charter and management, aircraft sales and maintenance. The company says it is the largest pilot training centre in Central Europe.
It is the Polish representative of aircraft makers Tecnam and Daher, which builds the TBM and Kodiak aircraft. The company also builds FNPT II flight simulators, including the Tecnam P2006T Mk. II, through a division called Bartolini Air Simulation. The simulators are meant for flight schools, airlines and aviation professionals.
The training fleet is made up of Tecnam aircraft with glass cockpit avionics, so students get used to modern jet displays. The fleet includes a piston twin with a Garmin G1000 NXi cockpit, the P2008JC MkII with G3X Touch avionics, and a single-engine IFR trainer with a GFC 700 autopilot. A side-by-side aerobatic aircraft is used for upset prevention and recovery training.
Bartolini Air is introducing the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy, formerly the Ryanair Mentored Programme. It lets people with little or no flying experience earn a frozen ATPL and follow a direct path to becoming a Ryanair pilot. The company also notes that Ryanair needs pilots with EASA licences, not UK CAA licences.
Aircraft sales are handled as an authorised sales representative of Tecnam and Daher. Buyers get free advice and a test flight. The company arranges a new or used aircraft, takes care of the formalities and provides maintenance. The Tecnam range includes the P-Mentor, P2008JC, P2006T and P2012, plus ultra-light aircraft.
Bartolini Air Maintenance gives technical support for piston and turboprop aircraft. The company says it is certified as a training organisation, an air carrier, a maintenance facility and a continuing airworthiness management organisation under EASA rules. It is run by active jet pilots, flight instructors and examiners.
In 2021 the company moved its headquarters into the former main terminal at Łódź, which was converted into a general aviation terminal and offices with lecture rooms and crew areas. The airport has instrument approaches, new hangars and terminals.
