American Testing Services

American Testing Services, called ATS, is a non-destructive testing and metallurgical testing lab in Miamisburg, Ohio. The site says it has worked since 2002 and that its staff own the company. It serves aerospace, military, commercial manufacturing, construction, foundry, fabricating and amusement customers. Aviation is one of several sectors.

The testing methods are ultrasonic, eddy current, radiography, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant and visual inspection. The team works in the lab or at the customer's site. For hard to reach structures, it uses technicians who are certified for rope access. The metallurgy side covers failure analysis plus chemical, mechanical, corrosion, metallography and weld testing.

ATS also teaches Level I and II classes in several NDT methods. It offers calibration and service for NDT equipment, including authorized Magnaflux service and repair, and it sells new and used equipment. A Level III consulting service covers oversight and audit prep for in-house NDT programs.

Jobs under 100 pieces usually turn around in 24 to 48 hours. Large projects and research are not included. The lab can run 24 hours a day when a job needs it.

The site lists AS9100D certification that includes ISO 9001:2015, Nadcap accreditation for non-destructive testing, and A2LA accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025. It also lists ITAR registration and an FAA-approved repair station rating for nondestructive inspection. NDT staff are certified to ASNT and NAS 410. The address is 2000 Old Byers Road, Miamisburg. The site has a contact form and a quote request.
