3Axes

3Axes is a French machining company in Château-Thierry that specialises in aluminium profiles and technical metals. It has been based there for more than 30 years. It makes parts for demanding customers in many industries, from single pieces to series of several thousand.

Its customers come from rail, light aeronautics, automotive and mobility, energy, building and facades, defence and security, and retail displays and technical furniture. In rail, it makes module frames, interior fittings and fit-out structures for trains, regional express trains and trams. In light aeronautics, it makes structural parts, housings and small-series components for technical aviation. It also makes high-precision machined parts for defence equipment.

The workshop has 3-axis and 5-axis machining centres, high-capacity CNC machines, automatic drilling and precise sawing. Its machines include Chiron, Elumatec, FOM and HACO centres, some with long beds that handle very long profiles. The conventional side has copy milling, rotary transfer lines, drilling and tapping benches, and column drills. Two 12 tonne punching presses complete the equipment. The company says its machine park keeps evolving.

An in-house design office works as an industrialisation cell. It joins projects at the design stage to find solutions that suit machining, assembly, tolerance and production rate. The team uses TopSolid, GO2CAM, ZW3D and the XCAP suite for design, programming, simulation and process work. It also advises customers on the best shape and tolerances for an aluminium profile. It can design full production lines, including in-line machining, automation and special assembly stations.

3Axes works from prototype to series and offers turnkey solutions. Its small size lets it stay flexible and quick to respond. It describes its team as loyal and skilled.

On quality, the company began an ISO 9001 certification process in 2024. It aims to be certified by 2026. It is also preparing for the EN9100 standard, which it sees as essential for the aerospace market. It targets that certification for 2027.
