Tutco SureHeat

TUTCO SureHeat is a US manufacturer of electric process air heaters based at 22 Industrial Drive in Exeter, New Hampshire, part of the TUTCO Heating Solutions Group within the Flex-Tek division of Smiths Group. Its heaters trace back to 1968, when the process heat engineering team, then part of OSRAM SYLVANIA, developed the open-coil Serpentine heating element as a clean, efficient and controllable heat source; Smiths Group bought the process heat division in October 2017. Made in the USA, SureHeat air heaters are used in aerospace, automotive, industrial, electronics, food, medical, packaging, plastics, pharmaceutical and printing applications worldwide.

• Standard process heaters for air and inert gases, including Jet and Max air heaters reaching 1,400 degrees F (760 degrees C) at pressures up to 150 psi, with two type K thermocouples for control, and Max HT heaters
• Specialty flanged inline heaters up to 2,012 degrees F (1,100 degrees C) and pressures of 2,000 psi and higher, and jet heaters of one megawatt and more
• Threaded inline heaters to 1,922 degrees F, triple pass heaters to 1,500 degrees F, custom threaded inline heaters to 1,652 degrees F, low-pressure inline heaters and custom heating elements
• Hot air tools with integrated thermocouples for single-phase OEM applications, open-loop and closed-loop spot heaters and replacement elements
• Industrial control panels engineered to work with its heaters, since proper control set-up extends element life

Serpentine technology

The Serpentine open-coil design maximises surface area to give very fast heat-up rates in an ultra-compact package, about a third of the size of traditional immersion heaters, with efficient airflow for air and non-reactive mixes of hydrogen, carbon dioxide, steam and syngas. SureHeat supplies thermal solutions to universities, laboratories and research organisations, heating for solid oxide fuel cells and other green technologies, and heaters for drying, curing, sterilising and converting processes.

Company

TUTCO announced the acquisition of WATTCO to expand its electric heating business, and the group's brands shown on the site include Farnam Custom, Duct Heaters and Conductive. SureHeat offers calculators, a video library, a blog, a newsletter and customer lists, and publishes compliance statements including conflict minerals and modern slavery policies.
