Terma A/S

Terma A/S is a Danish aerospace, defence and security company with headquarters in Lystrup, near Aarhus. It develops, makes and services technology that is used on land, at sea, in the air and in space. Terma is owned by a commercial foundation, which it says lets it invest in long term work. The company has been in business for more than 75 years.

What Terma does

• Air: aerostructures, audio systems, airborne electronics and electronic warfare systems for military aircraft and helicopters
• Ground: radars for coastal surveillance, ports, airports, wind farms and critical infrastructure
• Sea: naval radars, maritime safety and security, and naval combat systems such as the C-Guard decoy launching system
• Space: electronics, software and services for all phases of space programmes, including ground segment software

Aircraft work

Terma is a major supplier to the F-35 Lightning II. It says it delivers more than 80 composite, metal and electronics parts for the fighter. The company has made aerostructures for commercial and military aircraft since 1969. Its electronics manufacturing covers R&D, production, process engineering, installation and support.

Its avionics include the ALQ-213 electronic warfare controller, which links sensors and countermeasures on an aircraft so they work as one system. Terma also offers embedded training, so crews can practise combat scenarios without fitting all the equipment to the aircraft, and software secure to the NATO SECRET level.

Radars

The SCANTER family covers surveillance radars for ports, coasts, airports and ships. SCANTER Sphera is a 3D radar for airspace security, including counter-drone work. In September 2026 Terma said its SCANTER 6002 radar had been picked for the Hellenic Navy's MEKO frigate upgrade.
