Scandinavian Avionics
Avionics, training and cabin interiors from Billund, Denmark
About Scandinavian Avionics
Scandinavian Avionics is the founding company of The SA Group, based in Billund, Denmark. The group offers avionics, training and aircraft interior solutions for civil and military customers. It works on aeroplanes, helicopters and drones. Its story began in 1978, and it now describes almost five decades of experience.
The group sells a full chain of work under one roof. This runs from new product development and qualification to serial production, design, engineering, aircraft integration, certification, training and component maintenance. Jobs range from simple tasks to complete cockpit changes and special mission upgrades. Work can be done at the group's own facilities or at the operator's site.
Its listed capabilities are integrated logistics support, component maintenance, design and engineering, certification, aircraft modifications, product development, production services, training tools and services, and aircraft interiors. The group also has an STC and CAP page and a partners page that shows its network of avionics equipment makers.
Services come from seven facilities in Europe, the Middle East, India and Southeast Asia. Group companies are listed in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Malaysia and India. The Danish sites include design, production, training and interiors units. Sweden has a base at Bromma and a technology company. The Czech Republic has two companies, SAZ Aerospace and Neo Avionics.
AEROTEAM Training Solutions is the training unit in Billund. It was founded in 2019 as a joint venture between Scandinavian Avionics and Aeroteam ApS. It runs in-house courses on EWIS, fuel tank safety, receiving inspection, suspected unapproved parts, safety management systems and foreign object damage prevention. It also trains outside customers in crew resource management and human factors, using its MAYDAY tools.
AEROTEAM is also an EASA approved Part-147 training organisation. It offers type training for smaller aircraft, including the Fairchild Metroliner SA226 and SA227 series, the Pilatus PC-12 and the Airbus Helicopters H155. The courses cover systems, structure, operation, maintenance, inspections, limits, repairs and troubleshooting.
Classic Trim Aircraft Interiors, known as CTAI, is the interior unit. It works on custom cabin projects for aircraft owners and operators. The group says it holds the approvals it needs to operate, and its approvals page lists them.
