About Taiwan Space Industry Development Association
The Taiwan Space Industry Development Association (TSIDA) is a non-profit organisation established in 2019 under the initiative of the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA), based on the 8th floor of 9 Prosperity 1st Road in Hsinchu Science Park. Its mission is to promote the development of Taiwan's space industry and to facilitate industrial exchange and cooperation at home and abroad, handling exchange activities between industry, government departments and academia, convening domestic and international conferences and forums, and conducting strategic analysis and research on the sector with policy recommendations for the government.
Activities
- Co-organising with TASA the Taiwan International Assembly of Space Science, Technology and Industry (TASTI), Taiwan's flagship annual space event, since the two bodies deepened their collaboration in 2023
- Taking joint delegations of Taiwanese companies to major exhibitions such as the Satellite show in Washington, D.C., and organising international supply chain forums, including the Taiwan-UK Space Supply Chain Partnership Forum in 2026
- Hosting events such as a Taiwan-US satellite information security symposium and a 2024 space industry training course on low Earth orbit satellite communications
- Publishing news, announcements and industry events, including TSU PRISM seminar series and the return visit of NASA astronaut Kjell Lindgren to Taiwan in 2026
Industry focus
- Building on Taiwan's technical strengths in the communications industry, which give it an advantage in ground equipment for the satellite sector
- Expanding international cooperation and promoting cross-border collaboration so Taiwanese suppliers can join global space supply chains, including growing Taiwan-UK collaboration
- Supporting programmes such as the Ministry of Economic Affairs' space industry supply chain initiatives
Membership
TSIDA operates under a work plan and membership rules covering enrolment, termination and payment, holds member assemblies with elections of directors and supervisors, and publishes a newsletter and photo album of its activities. Members, government agencies and international partners can contact the association by email at its Hsinchu office.
