Stahlkontor

Stahlkontor is an independent German system supplier of parts and assemblies made from high-strength steels and armour steels for the defence, aviation, industrial and rail sectors, based at Preußerstraße 28 in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Building on more than 100 years of tradition as a steel trading company, it specialised in special steels in the late 1980s when it commissioned its first laser and water jet cutting systems, and today employs around 250 qualified staff at the Hagen site, producing everything from precision individual parts to ready-to-install assemblies for customers worldwide.

Aviation

• More than 20 years in the aviation business as a supplier of components and assemblies to the European aviation industry, with the Aviation business unit certified to EN 9100
• Precisely cut blanks and completely finished detailed parts for flying parts from an extensive stock of aerospace materials, plus sophisticated components for special fixture construction
• Modular production from material cutting through further processing and testing, all carried out in line with aviation regulations
• Over 6,000 flying parts manufactured and supplied for military and civil Airbus programmes

Defence and industry

• Parts, assemblies and ready-assembled modules such as hatches and doors for the major defence systems houses, including armoured housings and safety cells, vehicle fronts, walls, roofs and hulls with additional protection
• Cutting, milling, welding and cold forming of high-strength quenched and tempered and high-hardness steels to customer drawings, with welding approvals and procedure qualifications to standards and customer regulations
• Components for demanding industrial applications in materials from structural steels to high-strength grades, non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials, and series and spare parts for rail vehicle builders since the 1990s
• Investment in additive manufacturing and the in-house developed and patented Double LaserHybrid Process (DLHP)

Company

Stahlkontor's flexible machinery, expanded by network companies, supports economical and rapid order processing adapted to volume, and the company handles customs formalities and traceability for its customers. It holds the approvals and certifications relevant to the defence sector and aircraft part manufacture, has been recognised as a family-friendly company, and is a sponsoring member of the DWT defence technology association and a member of the BDLI German aerospace industries association, Hanse-Aerospace and Hamburg Aviation.
