Odysseus Space

Odysseus Space is a Luxembourg space communication company offering laser communication as a service. Its stated aim is fast and secure communication between all human assets, and its vision is lightspeed connectivity everywhere in the solar system. The tagline on its website is data communication, reimagined.

Cyclops

Cyclops is an end-to-end, laser communication-as-a-service solution that lets satellite operators move large amounts of data from space to ground quickly and safely. It is presented as the first laser communication subscription service for satellite operators and integrators, and is available to customers in 2027.

• A monthly subscription for an all-inclusive space-to-ground service
• Data bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps and 1 TB per day
• High directivity for secure data communication
• A design aimed at an optimal cost-performance ratio

Hardware

• Cyclops-DTE: a space laser communication terminal for space-to-ground data transfer, suited to constellations in low Earth orbit that need a cost-effective, high-speed, secure and licence-free link
• Cyclops-OGS: an optical ground terminal that receives data from Cyclops-DTE while remaining compatible with other major satellite laser communication terminals, deployed within partner ground station networks

Programmes and partners

The website lists commercial solutions, defence projects, investor information and a newsroom. Partner and supporter logos include the European Space Agency, the Luxembourg Space Agency, the European Defence Fund and Leaf Space, and the company has announced a collaboration with CONTEC to expand global optical ground station coverage.
