Norwich University

Norwich University is a private military college in Northfield, Vermont. It offers on-campus programs, a Corps of Cadets and fully online degrees. The university dates back to 1819 and calls itself the birthplace of ROTC.

Students can join the Corps of Cadets or choose a civilian lifestyle. Both groups share the same campus. The Corps builds discipline, accountability and leadership. Cadets begin with the Rook experience, where they learn to follow before they lead. Graduates can go into the private sector, the public sector or the armed forces.

Norwich says its teaching is hands-on. Students take on real projects early and work with faculty on teamwork and problem solving. Examples include architecture, geology and civil engineering projects, coding and nursing diagnostics. The academic offer covers on-campus and online programs, master's and accelerated master's degrees, and programs for high school students. It also runs summer academic programs.

Norwich University Online offers 100% online master's degrees, bachelor's degrees and certificates. They are designed for working adults, service members and lifelong learners. The university also has a Military and Veteran Affairs office.

Research is part of the work. Norwich has an Artificial Intelligence Center and a Center for Cybersecurity and Forensics Education and Research. It also has a Center for Global Resilience and Security and a Peace and War Center. Student research and faculty research both have their own programs.

Campus life includes more than 20 varsity sports. The teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. A career coaching service helps students with career planning, internships, job searches, resumes and interview skills. Norwich also offers a library, an archive and a museum. Its motto is I Will Try.
