Midparc

Midparc is a multi-service free zone in Morocco that is fully dedicated to the aerospace industry and to high value-added technology industries. It covers 125 hectares and is located in the Nouaceur export free zone, next to Mohammed V Airport. The company offers industrial buildings that can be made available quickly, so that a new tenant can start production on a turnkey basis. Its website is written in French and presents the park as a competitive base for aerospace manufacturing at the gateway to Europe.

Location

The site is next to the most important airport in Morocco and is connected to the national road and rail networks. It lies 30 km from Casablanca, the country's main port and economic capital. Midparc is in the Nouaceur region, where about 80 percent of the country's aerospace activity takes place. The Institute of Aeronautical Trades (IMA), a training institute for the sector, is nearby, and the site has a training page.

The Moroccan aerospace sector

The site describes the country as about 14 km from Europe and as competitive on labour costs, export costs and tax rates. The aerospace industry ecosystem was built through cooperation between the Moroccan government and GIMAS, the group of Moroccan aerospace and space industries. The site says local integration rates rose by 50 percent over a short period.

Testimonials on the home page come from companies that settled in the park, including Groupe ADF, which set up a tooling manufacturing centre of excellence, NSE Aero Maroc, AHG, which has run a machining plant in Morocco since 2004, and Hexcel.
