About ACI Africa

ACI Africa is the regional body for airports across Africa. It calls itself the voice of African airports. It serves airport members and business partners, and it marks 35 years of work.

The organisation offers services to help airports certify, plan for emergencies and manage quality and carbon. Its Africa Aerodrome Certification Assistance Programme (AACAP) gives airports step-by-step help to reach aerodrome certification. It supports aerodrome manuals, safety management system papers, emergency plans and procedures that follow ICAO standards. Expert teams visit airports on site, look for gaps and help fix them before certification or renewal audits.

SACOS is its digital certification platform. It lets airports track findings, recommendations, corrective actions and audit readiness, so they can move away from paper records. SIMAssist covers emergency preparedness. It offers tabletop and scenario-based exercises, checks of emergency plans and plans for improvement after each exercise.

Other services include ASQ for airport quality, ASPIRE for environmental, social and governance work, and Airport Carbon Accreditation. ROUTEInsight covers air connectivity, and TASS gives technical support. Support can be given in English, French or Arabic. ACI Africa describes the certification help as a non-commercial model that focuses on building skills at the airport.

Training is a large part of the offer. ACI Africa runs virtual classes in English and French on topics such as safety management systems, aerodrome human factors, practical airport safety under Annex 14, security crisis management and leadership in airport management.

The body holds webinars and conferences. Its 77th Board and Committee Meetings, Regional Conference and Exhibition runs in Dakar, Senegal, from 20 to 26 March 2027. Members can log in to a Member Connect portal and read airport news from across the continent.
