Fabspace Hangars GmbH
Flexible hangar structures for aircraft and helicopters of any size from Austria
About Fabspace Hangars
Fabspace Hangars GmbH designs and makes mobile hangars for aircraft and helicopters. The company is based in Steyr, Austria. Its hangars use a light steel frame covered with a textile membrane skin, so they can be moved, stored and rebuilt.
The company designs its hangars in Austria and builds them in central Europe. Standard models take about 6 to 8 weeks to produce. Custom mobile hangars take 3 to 4 months. Delivery from order to installation is under six months. The parts fit in standard 20 or 40 foot containers, which keeps transport simple. The smallest hangar can be up in four days. Prices start at 135,000 euros.
Fabspace says its hangars stand up to heavy snow, strong wind, heavy rain and hail, and that they are earthquake-proof. Owners can fix them to any type of ground. Options include heating and cooling, fire detection and protection, solar panels, office areas and cranes.
The standard V-Series runs from 250 to 3,000 square metres. The V_01 suits small aeroplanes and ultralights, with examples such as the Cessna 172, PA-28, DA40 and Robinson R22, R44 and R66. The V_02 houses light and medium helicopters and small aeroplanes, such as the H125. The V_03 takes medium and large helicopters and small business jets. The V_05 is for several aircraft, business jets and small commercial types such as the ATR 72 and DHC-8.
Customers include search and rescue teams, HEMS operators, law enforcement, offshore operators, MRO companies, private owners, flight clubs, airlines, air forces, governments and airports. Delivered projects include hangars in Linz in Austria, Stockholm in Sweden and Cambridge in the UK. Sales contacts cover Scandinavia, the Baltic states and South America.
Fabspace acts as an end-to-end partner. It plans the hangar, designs and customises it, manufactures it and installs it. Customer staff can take assembly and disassembly training. Each hangar comes with its own maintenance plan, and Fabspace offers service and maintenance. The company works with an industrial design studio in Austria on the look of the hangars.
The company says its design draws on diamond structures and stealth aircraft. Its stated mission is to design and make mobile, flexible hangars for aircraft and helicopter storage. Fabspace also builds hangar solutions for vehicles and other uses.
