EPST European Pilot Selection & Training

EPST, short for European Pilot Selection and Training, is a Dutch company in Utrecht. It offers full pilot training programs. It also runs a test that checks whether a person has the basic skills to become an airline pilot. The company site is written in Dutch.

Training starts with a suitability selection. This lets a student learn before starting whether the course fits them. Selection is open from age 17, and the course itself can begin from age 18. A selection result stays valid for one year.

Entry needs at least a HAVO diploma, a Dutch secondary school level, with math A or B and English. In principle a new class starts every month, and the date depends on the location. The company advises doing the selection at least two months before the wanted start.

In the simulator, students practice procedures and emergencies until they become natural. Students also fly solo for the first time. The site shares stories from students who have done this. Some trained abroad with EPST as the organizer. One lived for 14 months in Switzerland and trained at Aero Locarno. Another trained in Norway at OSM Aviation Academy with 11 other Dutch trainee pilots.

The company developed the COMPASS test. It tests for the basic aptitude needed to work as an airline pilot. The company says airlines use this test around the world.

Information days take place twice a month at EPST. Visitors can get answers to questions about the training there. The company also attends education fairs and open days.
