BeEmotion

BeEmotion is a Swiss artificial intelligence company that builds software and models that read people's faces, expressions, pose and speech, for use in aviation, security, robotics and cars.

The company has more than ten years of applied AI behind it. It says its AI interprets human presence, identity, state and behaviour. It is Swiss owned and run, with roots in Switzerland and Europe, and it has offices in Switzerland, Cyprus, Australia and Japan. Its research has had funding from the Eurostars programme. It says privacy is a feature, so data stays under the customer's control.

BeEmotion sells its work in three ways. The cloud service is a hosted vision API. A user sends an image or video and gets back structured data on faces, expressions, head and body pose, identities and transcripts. It can be used through REST, Python or an agent through MCP. The edge service offers models sized for microcontrollers, embedded boards and workstations, so video can stay on the device. These models are free for personal, hobby, education and research use. Applications are products built on its models.

One application is AeroMind, a pilot development tool for instructors that supports evidence-based training and crew resource management. It debuted at APATS 2025 in Singapore. Other applications cover human-aware robots, identity checks, border and public security, and in-cabin sensing for cars. Panasonic's NICOBO companion robot uses BeEmotion models to sense the people around it.

The company also offers services. It builds custom AI models trained on a customer's own data and hardware. These can run on the customer's own systems, on the edge, or in a private cloud. It also helps teams add AI to products, from the first demo to a proof of concept, a pilot and full production. It shows an example of a passenger flow system for an airport. In that example, each camera reports people, flow, dwell and wait times, and the mood of the faces sampled, and the system reports whether a terminal initiative worked. The example uses simulated history.
