DA-Group

DA-Group is a Finnish provider of advanced electronics and high-technology products, from the seabed to space. It serves industrial, defence and aerospace customers around the world. Its work covers the whole chain, from research and design to testing, manufacturing and after-sales service.

In industry, DA-Group works with the paper, process and forestry sectors, rolling stock, automotive, telecommunications and energy. It often acts as the think tank, product designer, test engineer, maker and maintenance provider for a customer. Its aim is to shorten the time from development and testing to market, and to cut manufacturing costs through efficient planning.

For defence, DA-Group offers a satellite detection unit based on synthetic aperture radar, combat endurance systems, degaussing systems for ships, a tester for electronic warfare suites, and an immune satellite navigation system.

For space, the company builds radar systems and radiometers for satellites. It also works on space situational awareness and RF products. Its products include frequency synthesizers, an 89 GHz receiver, an active cold load, RF switch units and low noise amplifiers. It has long experience with radar used in space. It now uses that know-how in short-range radar on the ground. Uses include lighting control in buildings and checking whether someone is in a room in places such as hospitals and care homes.

DA-Group provides research and product development for embedded systems. This covers electronics, software, FPGA, signal processing, hardware and mechanics, and RF and microwave design. It also helps with functional safety in safety-critical projects, where the design process must follow industry standards.

The company offers electronics and contract manufacturing, clean room production, and testing and validation. It also makes RF filters and onboard passenger information systems, with compact onboard computers and LED displays for public transport. Customers include Valmet Automation, for which it helped develop controller cards used in chemical process control.
