About Clean Energy Business Council MENA
The Clean Energy Business Council MENA, or CEBC, is a non-profit, non-governmental association for the clean energy sector across the Middle East and North Africa. It is registered as a not-for-profit company in Abu Dhabi Global Market. It brings together local and international organisations from the private and public sectors.
The council acts as a platform to drive clean energy policy and to build dialogue between the public and private sectors. It says it is the only clean energy industry group that covers the whole MENA region. It aims to guide public policy and private investment in the region's young clean energy sector.
Its mission has six parts. It aims to be a forum for companies and government bodies working on clean energy, to promote the industry, to work with governments on policy and rules, to build alliances with research institutions, international associations and media, to collect data for benchmarking, and to help governments, industry and communities meet low carbon and sustainability goals.
CEBC runs five working groups: Future Mobility Club, Climate Finance, Energy Efficiency, Clean Hydrogen and Women in Clean Energy. Members get updates on clean energy policy, research and technology, and chances to network with industry players. Membership has levels and benefits, and some content is for members only.
The council runs events and offers consultancy. Its knowledge centre holds publications, webinars, case studies, blogs and a podcast. It also lists projects, newsletters and partnerships, and it holds an annual summit.
CEBC says it is an accredited observer at the Green Climate Fund. It is also a partner of the UNDP, the IRENA Coalition for Action, the Research Council of Oman and Masdar.
