B2Space

B2Space is a high altitude operations company founded in the UK in 2016 and later expanded to Spain, with a base at the Maesglas Industrial Estate in Newport, Wales and an office in Burgos. Describing itself as the European leader in high altitude operations, it offers near space testing on stratospheric balloon flights, high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) platforms and a rockoon launch system intended to open low-cost access to low Earth orbit for small and micro satellites, drawing on the technology and capabilities built up over multiple flights.

Rockoon satellite launch

B2Space's launch concept lifts a rocket on a stratospheric balloon platform to 35 km, above 99.9 percent of the atmosphere, before the launcher is deployed, aiming to offer dedicated launches for individual small satellites or shared capacity for groups of nano and CubeSats, using generative design, additive manufacturing and other technologies to cut cost. The company also runs a university programme, publishes news and offers to assist customers with questions by telephone in the UK or Spain.
