Aspen Avionics

Aspen Avionics, Inc. designs and makes digital flight displays for general aviation aircraft. Founded in 2004 by pilots, it set out to make glass cockpit technology affordable for owners of older aircraft. Its Evolution Flight Display System lets owners replace traditional six-pack instruments step by step or all at once, fitting into existing panel cutouts. Aspen Avionics is now a division of AIRO Group Holdings, Inc., an aerospace, autonomy and air mobility company, and its business address is in Phoenix, Arizona.

Autopilot integration

Evolution displays work with autopilots including the Garmin GFC 600, Genesys Aerosystems S-TEC 3100 and System 55X, and Avidyne DFC90, and the EA100 adapter and an altitude preselect system support older autopilots such as the KFC 200.

Sales and support

Aspen sells through authorized dealers, who install the systems, and offers product documentation, a pilot learning center and extended warranties.

Cirrus

Aspen's customer gallery lists Cirrus Design SR20 and SR22 aircraft among the types fitted with Evolution displays, and its news archive records an EASA approval for installation of the Evolution system in Cirrus Design model aircraft (April 2012) and the certification of the Avidyne DFC90 autopilot in the Cirrus SR20 and SR22 with an Aspen PFD (June 2013). The company's FAA Approved Model List STC for the Evolution Flight Display System covers more than 900 airplane makes and models, with installation done by Aspen dealers. Cirrus owners should confirm the current approval status for their serial number with a dealer.
