Bristell by BRM AERO

Bristell by BRM AERO is a family-run maker of all-metal light aircraft in Kunovice, in the Czech Republic. The company was founded by a father and his son in 2009 and says it has built more than 1,200 aircraft.

Those aircraft fly in more than 30 countries on five continents. The company makes over 110 aircraft a year, has more than 30 dealers worldwide and employs over 140 people in Kunovice. In 2026 it was named Company of the Year in the Zlin Region.

The certified model is the B23. It is type certified under EASA CS-23, and the B23-912 also holds FAA Part 23 certification, with further variants in process. The company says the family is also accepted by the UK CAA and CASA. The B23M is the same platform made to meet the new MOSAIC rules for the US light sport category.

The best-selling family is the UL/LSA line, which includes the Classic, RG and TDO on one airframe. It uses Rotax engines from 100 to 160 horsepower, with up to 2,000 hours between overhauls. The B8M is a high-wing model sized for MOSAIC, with a 160 horsepower Rotax 916 iS and a maximum weight of 800 kg. The company is also developing an electric trainer called Energic.

Bristell aircraft use MT propellers, Beringer brakes, AmSafe harnesses and Garmin avionics. A BRS whole-aircraft parachute is standard on every certified B23. The cockpit is 130 cm wide, and the aircraft can carry up to 55 kg of luggage. The most efficient models cruise on as little as 14 litres an hour and can run on MOGAS.

Flight schools use the aircraft for training, and the range can tow gliders of up to 850 kg. Every aircraft is built to order, so customers choose livery, upholstery, avionics and propeller before production starts.
