Alpha Systems AOA

Alpha Systems AOA makes angle of attack indicators for general aviation aircraft. The site lists addresses in Cedar, Minnesota and Ramsey, Minnesota. The company says it has worked on angle of attack technology since 1997.

The company designs and makes displays for certified, experimental, pressurized and non pressurized aircraft. The site says its system uses a pressure measurement technology that can be installed in most aircraft without major changes. It says no flight critical systems are affected, and the system draws little current.

The company's current products are the Eagle, the Falcon and the Merlin. The Eagle has a chevron plus diamond style display. The Falcon has a vertical light bar. The Merlin has a horizontal light bar. The Eagle and Falcon can be mounted above the dash or flush mounted as a heads up display. The site says the company made the industry's first full color heads up display for angle of attack.

Kits include pressurized and dual options. Accessories include mounting plates, a swivel mount, heated probes, probe covers, a flaps transmitter and custom cables. The site also lists discontinued displays, including the Legacy, the Classic 4 inch, the Ultra and the Classic Round. It lists mechanical gauges called the Condor and the Hawk.

The site lists aircraft where its displays are installed. Examples include a Cessna 185 Skywagon, a Beechcraft Bonanza F33A and a Mitsubishi MU-2. It shows FAA letters and a certification letter. The company has been present at the EAA AirVenture show in Oshkosh.

The site has a dealers and installers page. It also has a military option listed in its menu. The phone number is 763-506-9990. The contact page has an e-form for questions.
