About Advanced Technologies

Advanced Technologies Inc. (ATI) is a military aerospace research, development and manufacturing company. It is based in Newport News, Virginia. The site says it was established in 1988 and is 100 percent employee owned. It holds ISO 9001 and AS9100 certification.

ATI designs and fabricates composite and metal rotor blades. Its rotor work includes sub scale blades, hubs and controls, blade tooling and rotor test stands. The site says the company also builds precision rotor systems for experimental and FAA testing.

The company builds full scale and display models, mockups and training devices. It also makes wind tunnel models, including 2D and 3D models, metal and composite models, and dynamic scaled models. The site lists RCS pole models and inlet and propulsion models as well.

The company's tooling division acquired DLBA Robotics, Ltd. The site says it can machine large composite tooling for applications over 200 feet long. In 2015 the company added a 17,000 square foot tooling facility and a 16 foot by 90 foot robotic CNC machining center.

The site says ATI has delivered hardware to The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Sikorsky Aircraft, Bell Helicopter and NASA. It says it has also done research for GE Aircraft Engine Group, Rolls Royce, Pratt and Whitney and BAE Systems. ATI provides wind tunnel support to NASA under a fourth consecutive five year contract.

The company operates in an 84,000 square foot facility in Newport News. The site says its location gives access to NASA Langley Research Center and military installations. The office is at 875 City Center Boulevard, Newport News, Virginia 23606. The phone number is 757-873-3017.
