ZAITRA

Zaitra s.r.o. is a Czech space software company based at Bauerova 491/10 in Brno that develops onboard data processing for satellites. Its aim is to make space-grade sensors smarter and to move missions closer to autonomy, processing data in orbit so that less raw data needs to be sent to the ground and limited downlink and latency are used more efficiently. The company describes itself as an established supplier of onboard software, with a vision of changing how data is processed on Earth, in orbit and on the Moon.

Missions and research

Zaitra delivered an AI onboard data processing solution for a Czech defence mission, supplied onboard cloud screening and object detection on hyperspectral data with preprocessing for a 6U CubeSat, contributed to a pair of 16U CubeSats that analyse the spectral composition of meteors, and is involved in the first CORVUS satellite aimed at monitoring space debris. Partners include Xiphos, with whom it has a strategic partnership, and Zeabuz, combining satellite data with maritime autonomy, and the company works with VZLU, the Czech aerospace research centre. Its research publications cover fast onboard methane detection, history-injection transformers for continuous flood change detection and lightweight sensor-independent cloud masking.
