ThinKom designs and manufactures high performance satcom antennas for a mobile world. The company is based in Hawthorne, California, and was founded in 2000. Its phased array terminals can communicate with satellite constellations in every orbit.

Its antennas use patented VICTS technology, which the website says combines the efficiency of mechanically steered arrays with the performance of electronically scanned arrays. The antennas are network and modem agnostic and are compatible with many networks.

Commercial inflight connectivity antennas serve mainline and regional fleets. The ThinAir line includes the ThinAir GT for special mission aircraft and the ThinAir Nexus for airlines. The website cites more than 40 million hours of operational time in flight and on the tarmac.

The company lists the orbit types its antennas support, including LEO, MEO, GEO and highly elliptical orbit networks. Compatible networks named on the site include Amazon Kuiper, O3b mPOWER, Telesat, SES, Viasat, Eutelsat, Intelsat and WGS.

Other product areas include ground station antennas that track multiple targets, space payload antennas, and ThinSat and ThinPack antennas that connect users on the move. High power microwave systems serve counter drone and integrated air and missile defense missions.

The company's history includes a first US government contract for an airborne antenna in 2003, a selection by Gogo for VICTS technology in 2013, and a first flight with Gogo 2Ku on Aeromexico in 2016. In 2022 the Ka2517 antenna was added to the Airbus HBCplus catalog.

ThinKom has more than 150 employees and a 75,000 square foot manufacturing and testing facility. It is AS9100D certified and holds FAA Part 145 repair station status. The company is privately held and says its antennas serve the aviation, military, gateway, satellite and terrestrial mobility markets.
