SkAI Tech
AI-powered crew rostering platform for airlines, based in France
About SkAI Tech
SkAI Tech is a Paris startup that sells AI software for airline crew scheduling. The company is based at Station F in Paris, France. It offers a cloud platform that plans crew work so that airlines can run smoother operations at lower cost.
The platform has four main tools. Crew rostering builds crew duty assignments from the airline's roster patterns and rules, and aims for fair and balanced schedules. Pairing optimisation turns a flight schedule into trips that leave a base and return to it, within duty limits and with as little positioning as possible. Flight assignment matches each flight with the best available crew across the network. A dashboard shows key crew performance numbers.
SkAI is designed as an add-on to the flight management system an airline already uses. The team keeps its current tool, and SkAI plugs into it. This means crews and planners do not have to change how they work to try the software.
The company builds its tools for three types of operator. Scheduled airlines use it for commercial flight operations. ACMI operators use it for rostering in leasing operations. Non-scheduled airlines, such as business aviation, charter and medevac operators, use it for flexible rostering that follows on-demand flying.
SkAI Tech shares results from a case study with the airline Jetfly. Flight coverage rose from 63 percent to 84 percent without new hires. The company also says a complete schedule takes about nine minutes to build. It reports saving about one and a half hours of manual work every day. It says it has scheduled more than 900 crew members.
The company offers free calculators for crew planners. One works out maximum flight duty periods, minimum rest and cumulative EASA limits. Another works out how many pilots and cabin crew a flying programme needs. It also publishes guides, comparisons and a glossary.
SkAI Tech describes itself as a fast-growing team that mixes AI, engineering and aviation skills. It is backed by the ESSEC and CentraleSupélec network. It lists France Digitale, La French Tech, Google for Startups and Station F as partners. Its materials are available in English and French.
