SiriusXM Aviation

SiriusXM Aviation is the satellite-delivered weather and entertainment service for pilots from SiriusXM, providing weather and related information from wheels up to wheels down so that pilots can see what lies ahead and make decisions in flight. Plans start at 29.99 dollars a month, subscribers may add SiriusXM entertainment at a discount, and the service is available in the contiguous United States, southern Canada and coastal regions, with Canadian pilots served through siriusxm.ca.

Service

• Satellite weather that works on the ground and at any altitude, which subscribers quoted on the site contrast with datalink weather that only begins once airborne
• Comparisons with ADS-B weather, including the AOPA Air Safety Institute's video with aviation writer and ATP John Zimmerman, so pilots can decide which service suits their flying
• More than 150 channels of ad-free music plus sports, talk and news for cross-country flights
• A YouTube channel with webinars, pilot stories, SiriusXM versus ADS-B comparisons and weather tips from CFI and meteorologist Scott Dennstaedt

Getting started

• Purchase and install compatible hardware, activate by phone and redeem a 400 dollar hardware reward by mail or online
• A wake-up signal can be sent to hardware that has not been used for a while, and service can be temporarily suspended
• Dedicated aviation support by phone and email, with online account management

Pilots

Testimonials on the site come from a Piper Arrow pilot who has used SiriusXM weather since 2005, 2010 Air Race Classic winner Terry Carbonell, who credits the coverage for her confidence to fly solo across the country, and an AirCam engineer who relies on up-to-the-minute radar in an open-cockpit aircraft. Pilot and filmmaker Josh Flowers of Aviation101 also explains why he uses SiriusXM alongside ADS-B.

Shows

SiriusXM Aviation appears in the exhibitor lists of NBAA-BACE 2026 and 2027.
