Silvus Technologies

Silvus Technologies develops mobile-networked MIMO (MN-MIMO) wireless communications. Its site describes the company as founded in 2004 to bring MIMO technology to the transmission of high fidelity video, voice and data in harsh conditions, and as now part of Motorola Solutions. Its stated mission is to create mission-critical technologies for those who protect and serve.

Products

• StreamCaster radios: software defined radios built on the proprietary MN-MIMO waveform, which the company describes as tactical MANET radios for military, law enforcement and broadcast teams
• StreamCaster PRISM antenna radio systems and the StreamCaster TRINITY dual band MIMO transceiver array
• StreamScape, a graphical interface with an ATAK plugin, and StreamConnect, a global ad hoc network
• Spectrum intelligence for SIGINT, based on the RFeye ecosystem and the FASST 6000 spectrum sensor
• Electronic warfare capabilities, including low probability of intercept and detection features and anti-jamming resilience

History

Silvus says it spent fifteen years on government-funded research and development. In 2011 it applied its MIMO expertise to a commercial product line, now known as the StreamCaster family of MANET radios, and it continues to hold research contracts alongside off-the-shelf products.

Markets

The site groups its applications into military, law enforcement, unmanned systems, airborne ISR, broadcasting and maritime. The radios are described as fluid, self-healing and self-forming mesh networks for congested and contested environments.
