Sapient Perception

Sapient Perception is a deep-tech company in Copenhagen, Denmark. It builds sensor systems that help unmanned aircraft and other unmanned systems see a whole area at once. The company works on intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, known as ISR, for defence, security and resilience.

The core idea is to remove a common trade-off. A zoom sensor shows detail but loses the wider scene, and a wide view loses detail. Sapient captures the full field of view at 10K detection resolution in every frame. It processes the image on board and sends out only the findings.

The platform has four parts. ROOK and ECHO are the sensors and mission optics. FORGE is the edge computer. The IGNITE:AI framework delivers the findings, and the company also offers platform integration. It says it can run a customer's own AI models on the aircraft. It sends geolocated findings in open formats into existing command systems.

The company reports several figures from its own tests. It says its sensor covers up to 108 times more area per frame than a 720p zoom block at the same detection resolution. It reports under 400 milliseconds from capture to a georeferenced finding. It says sending findings instead of video uses less than 0.1 percent of the bandwidth.

Sapient lists four mission types. These are frontline reconnaissance, threat detection and unexploded ordnance, border and maritime watch, and search and rescue. It has published datasets from real test flights over Denmark, including central Copenhagen, the harbour and marinas, farmland and towns on Zealand.

The company describes its supply chain as European, ITAR-free and NDAA-aligned, with an open and modular architecture. Its three founders worked together for four years at Phase One, a Danish imaging company that makes cameras for drones, aircraft and satellites. Named partners include Spaceline, TEKEVER and Dropla Tech. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with TEKEVER.
