High Eye
Airboxer unmanned helicopter for ISR, maritime surveillance and mapping
About High Eye
High Eye builds unmanned helicopter systems. Its main product is the Airboxer, a VTOL unmanned aircraft platform. The company is based in Dordrecht in the Netherlands and says it is active worldwide. It presents the Airboxer as one proven platform for two operational domains.
The Airboxer flies for more than 4 hours. It carries a payload of up to 7 kg and cruises at 45 knots. It has an IP67 weather rating and an EMI shielded design. It supports autonomous operation and several payloads on one platform, including stabilized EO/IR sensors for day and night work. It can fly beyond visual line of sight where regulations allow. It can work from land or from moving vessels and needs only a small take off and landing area.
High Eye says the platform is built on an aviation grade architecture. Its core principles are redundancy by design and deterministic flight control. The system is aligned with STANAG 4738 operational principles. The company describes the Airboxer as being in serial production, with repeat orders and proven operational use.
For defense and security, the Airboxer is offered for persistent ISR, border protection, reconnaissance, force protection, mission escort, and maritime and land security. Anti smuggling work is also listed. The main operators are military forces, border authorities and security organisations that need deployable intelligence capability.
For maritime and civil services, the platform is offered to naval forces, coast guards, offshore operators, infrastructure owners and governmental agencies. Typical missions include maritime operations and port oversight, infrastructure and asset inspection, environmental monitoring and research, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. Border patrol is listed too.
The website shares two case studies. Arctic UAV selected the HEF 32 for long endurance operations in extreme Arctic conditions. These include wildlife research, environmental monitoring and maritime surveillance across snow, ice and low temperatures. Oculus Airborne Sensoring in Mexico chose the HEF 32 for public safety, surveillance and remote monitoring. The site also shows the Royal Netherlands Navy, TEXO and TerraDrone among trusted names.
High Eye also offers ground control and equipment, certification and compliance information, and training and support. Its website has downloads, news, an FAQ and a careers page. Visitors can request an operational briefing, and the company invites people to its Dordrecht facility and mentions trade shows.
