ODU

ODU develops and makes connector systems that carry power, signals and data. The company is based in Germany and sells through country sites in Europe, Asia and the United States. Its connectors are used where reliable transmission is critical, even in demanding environments and harsh operating conditions.

The product range has three main groups. Circular connectors include the MINI-SNAP, MINI-MED and AMC series, with high-density, easy-clean and threaded versions. Modular connectors include the ODU-MAC range in several line types, a docking system and a power connector. Electrical contacts include the LAMTAC, SPRINGTAC and TURNTAC families.

ODU also builds fully assembled, customised system solutions. It offers cable assembly and works with fiber optic technology, including expanded beam and physical contact connectors and plastic optical fiber. Other technology areas include data technology, electromagnetic compatibility, high voltage, silicone-overmolded systems, termination technology and tightness.

The company says it keeps about 80 percent of its manufacturing in-house. This, it says, supports high quality, short development cycles and solutions that fit each application. A product finder and a product matcher help buyers pick the right connector.

ODU serves several industries. In medical technology, its connectors go into robotics, endoscopes and catheters. In military and security technology, it works on soldier systems, C4ISR equipment and high-speed links for military UAVs. It also serves test and measurement, industrial applications, robotics and the automotive industry.

Customers can get support through distributors and a worldwide contact search. ODU also provides technical downloads, CAD data, assembly instructions, videos and test reports. It lists certifications and a sustainability policy as part of its company information.
