Active Drone Security Solutions is a Belgian company that sells drone detection, signal jamming and airspace management systems to protect sites from unauthorised drones.

The company says drones now serve many uses, from hobby flying to business and public safety. That growth also brings privacy and security risks. Active Drone Security Solutions offers platforms to track, identify and stop these threats. Its focus areas are situational awareness, drone and pilot tracking, privacy and asset protection, counter-UAV solutions and combined airspace security management.

The first part of its concept is management software called iDRONE-CONTROL. It shows the monitored area on topographic and satellite maps. It can switch between cameras by itself, depending on where a drone is. Alarms can be set to suit each user and are sent as push messages, emails, alert sounds and monitoring layouts. The software runs on a central server with a fail-over function and does not need an internet connection.

The second part is detection and identification. iDRONE-DETECT is a passive radio frequency detector, so it sends out no signals of its own. It uses RF and DFT sensors to spot incoming drones. Software then works out the type, model and likely threat level of each drone. It comes as a fixed module and as a small mobile unit.

The third part is DaaG, short for Drone as a Guard. These autonomous drones carry sensors, cameras and AI software. They patrol set routes, react to alerts from other security systems and send live video to security staff.

The company lists six main uses. Police forces use drones for aerial watch, events and searches. Prisons need protection from contraband deliveries and spying. Big outdoor events need detection to protect crowds. Wind and solar parks need both drone inspections and protection. Seaports and harbours need protection against smuggling and spying. The company also protects the yachts and homes of VIP clients.
