Norad

NORAD A/S is a privately owned, independent Danish company with 40 years of market experience that delivers specialised defence and security solutions and maintenance to customers in Denmark, Norway and Iceland, with closely related sister companies serving Sweden, Finland and Estonia. Its customers include airports, police, customs, defence forces and prisons, and it acts as agent, distributor, consultant and technical service provider for international manufacturers wanting to enter the Nordic market, under the motto protecting humans and assets.

• Checkpoint and X-ray screening equipment: X-ray systems, metal detectors, explosive trace detectors and alcohol meters, plus backpack, van and trailer-based X-ray, body scanners, baggage, pallet and container scanners
• Electro-optics including thermal imagers, range finders and drone detection
• EOD robots, protective suits, tools and ground search equipment, and CBRN detectors, identifiers and protective measures
• Weaponry, mounts, sights, ammunition, explosives and grenades for defence customers, and products and consumables for police forensic laboratories and crime scenes
• Spare parts for engineering equipment, tanks, aircraft and ships, and an in-country service platform covering technical maintenance, a spare parts centre and logistics

Permissions and certificates

• Security clearance by the Danish Defence for all key staff
• Permission from the Danish transport authorities to perform technical maintenance in airports on named equipment
• Permission to service equipment at the Danish Police, Danish and Norwegian prisons and detention centres, and Danish and Norwegian customs
• Permission to import, install and service X-ray systems, with manufacturer training certificates for many equipment types and models

NORAD says it knows Nordic customers' needs and working environments, is often involved ahead of new tenders, has won many tenders, framework agreements and service agreements with its suppliers, and handles implementation, maintenance and repair once a contract is won. It hand-picks key suppliers and partners, bases its business on credibility, trust and long-term relationships, and invites manufacturers looking for a Nordic agent or distributor to get in touch.
