Samsic Airport is the airport services business of the Samsic Group, a French services company operating in 27 countries with 155,000 employees serving 30,000 customers every day. Based at 6 rue de Chatillon, La Rigourdiere, 35577 Cesson-Sevigne, near Rennes, Samsic Airport supports airlines and airports with ground handling, passenger services, baggage handling, ramp and flight operations, airport security and assistance for passengers with reduced mobility. • Passenger services: reception and information, check-in, document verification, transfer and connection assistance, gate management, boarding, VIP lounge management, premium passenger assistance, fast track, terminal transfers, people flow optimisation and PRM assistance
• Ramp and flight operations through Samsic Assistance: baggage handling, centralised load control, flight documentation, de-icing and airport transport, with 400 ramp agents in four countries, more than 500 power-driven machines in France and 208,594 flights handled in 2019; Airport Shuttle One is its airport transport subsidiary
• Security: passenger and hold baggage screening, airline security, behaviour-detection profiling and, through the acquisition of Hub Safe, more than 50 explosive detection dog teams; staff hold T4 or T10/CQP ASA certification
• Airport facilities management on a multi-site, multi-service basis

Certifications and figures

Samsic Airport was awarded ISO 9001 certification in 2015 for its security and PRM assistance services, and its Samsic Assistance ramp operations are ISAGO certified at Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion Island, Belgrade and Paris Orly airports. Key 2019 figures include 28.5 million passenger security checks, 67 million items of cabin baggage and 12.5 million items of hold baggage screened, 80,000 dog team interventions, 262,266 flights handled and more than 100,000 hours of training. Recent news includes WestJet awarding PRM services in Canada to Samsic Assistance Canada and a new contract with Portugalia Airlines in Lisbon. The group's corporate social responsibility strategy rests on four pillars and twelve commitments aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
