RWL German Flight Academy GmbH

RWL German Flight Academy is a flight school at Mönchengladbach Airport in Germany, with more than 50 years of pilot training. It trains private pilots and airline pilots, runs a Boeing 737 simulator centre and has its own maintenance organisation for general aviation aircraft.

Flight training

• ATPL, integrated or modular: about 20 to 22 months from zero to airline pilot, including full flight simulator training
• ATPL with a degree, in cooperation with FH Aachen (aircraft engineering with an airline pilot licence) and Hochschule Bremen (aviation systems engineering and management for pilots)
• Luxair Pilot Cadet Program: RWL trains the airline's future pilots
• CPL commercial pilot licence, modular or continuous
• PPL private pilot licence, 5 to 12 months, from age 16
• CB-IR competency based instrument rating, with 80 hours of theory by distance learning
• Advanced UPRT, instructor ratings (IRI, CRI), refresher training, screening preparation and radio licences

Simulator training

RWL runs a Boeing 737 full flight simulator for type ratings, airline training and dry lease, and also operates simulators for third parties. FNPT II devices are used for instrument training.

Maintenance

The company's combined airworthiness organisation (CAO) maintains general aviation aircraft and carries out avionics upgrades for aircraft owners.
